K-Pop A-Z: Infinite – Only Tears

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Only Tears (from Infinitize – 2012)

One of Infinite’s most delicate ballads, Only Tears’ gentle mix of piano, guitar and strings provides little distraction from the purity of the group’s vocals. Even so, the instrumental builds gorgeously, becoming more grandiose as the song swells to its climax. Leader Sungkyu gives a particularly riveting performance, anchoring Tears with a shot of pure emotion. He would later cover the song for his own solo album, but the full group version is the definitive recording, pulling strong performances from every member.
