K-Pop A-Z: Infinite – Rosinante

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Keep up with Infinite’s A-Z reviews here!

Rosinante (from Season 2 / Be Back – 2014)

Using a Don Quixote literary reference as its title, Rosinante takes Infinite’s trademark synth sound and jettisons almost everything else. Like many of the tracks on Be Back, the production merges dance pop funk with a lush arrangement that favors fizzy electronics over bass or percussion. The song has a sweeping, headrush appeal. Its lack of a substantial low end gives it a very unique sound, even among Infinite’s material. In this way, Rosinante feels much closer to j-pop than k-pop, which just happens to be an excellent match for the group’s layered performance style.
