Wings (from First Invasion – 2010)

Though Infinite would go on to have an easily defined sound, their debut mini album was actually pretty diverse. Wings takes them into drum-skitter, early 00’s pop r&b, which is a surprisingly solid fit for their talents. It’s one of the group’s more dated tracks, but the dynamic, ever-shifting instrumental helps inject a sense of spontaneity into the otherwise formulaic melody. The guys offer a polished, rhythmic performance with special focus on Dongwoo and Hoya’s rap verses, but still manage to bring the harmonies that make up their trademark layered sound.
