Peter Pan (from XOXO / Growl – 2013)

Like its title might suggest, Peter Pan is one of the most lightweight pop confections in EXO’s arsenal. But, with a discography as dense as theirs, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The song’s bubblegum melody might not be to everyone’s taste, but it has a sweet appeal that’s bolstered by standout percussion and the group’s always-tight vocal blend. Stacked against their edgier material, this comes across like a soundtrack to a Disney film. It’s the kind of song they only could have gotten away with during the first few years of their career, but it’s a reminder of simpler times and simpler choruses.
