Before discussing this song, I must mention how much I love the title “Already Go Ready.” It’s the kind of beautiful nonsense no one actually says in real life. It sounds like the catchphrase of some fantastic teen sitcom.
Unfortunately, the song itself doesn’t quite live up to this excitement. Already Go Ready (얼레리꼴레리) has plenty of ideas, which I appreciate. But, its too fragmented to fully work. Its chorus opts for a SHINee-esque funk pop blast, undercut by verses that constantly fumble the pace and energy. When charging full force, the track has tons of potential. And, the guys seem to relish the opportunity to go big. I’m curious if they’ll be able to smooth over some of these growing pains on future releases.
On a related note, the music video’s Back To The Future schtick is fun (and unexpected)!

Aw shucks, I mean cmon. Bright theme, unrelenting tempo. Its like the baby of “Everybody”+ “Married to the Music” with a soupcon of “Love Me Right”, all dialed back a tic or two, and given a great song title like “Already Go Ready”. I think it is a solid debut, and waiting to hear what they got next. Mid 8’s for me.

The is actually one the best tracks I’ve heard all month, and it’s a debut? Nice. I hope they stick with it.

btw the korean title is basically the korean equivalent of “ne ne ne ne ne” that people use when they tease someone else, so i guess they were going for a cross-lingual pun there!
