There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

To me, it is the gold standard of its ilk (silly bubblegum novelty songs). It’s like the archetype of that whole sub-genre.

Roly Poly just a 9? I would have thought it might have a higher rating 😔 Perhaps you feel the chorus is a tad puerile of sorts?

Does “Little Apple” do not count?
Same for “First Love” and “Because I Know”, tho they’re Day By Day sisters and ballads I wouldn’t expect them to get a high score anyway.
Tho if you count We Were In Love I feel you should’ve added the other songs they collabed with, I feel “Day and Night” is quite close to Day by day in melodies. And you have the closer to trot ones like “Women’s Generation”, “Forever Love” and “Wonder Woman”. And the summery reggae one called “Bikini”. Most of those M/V’s are lost in reupload channels so I can see why you wouldn’t come across them when doing this.

Little Apple absolutely counts and that’s an oversight on my part. For the others, I believe they’re all collabs with two other artists, right? I only include collabs with one other artist in this feature since more than that doesn’t really make it feel like their song anymore imo.

Bikini is just with Davichi, tho it has 1 feature in Skull. For the rest you are right and they’re collabs with both SeeYa and Davichi and Day and Night with Gunji and Gummy.

Ah, T-ARA, a group so loved in Korea that someone in the Patent + Trademark office decided that the rights to their group name belonged to the ladies themselves and not the agency, which was not the expected outcome. The power of a bureaucracy stan bubbling up to the top.
Anyway, Lovey Dovey and Roly Poly on top for me.
