While it’s important for any group to stretch their sound and try new things, there’s a certain point where a sonic shift completely abandons the identity that made that group fantastic to begin with. Such was the case with AHOF’s Sugar High, which repainted them as the kind of badass, chant-happy boy group that already exists in so many other places. From what I can tell, that song was maligned even by hardcore fans. Thankfully, this turned out to be a red herring for the group’s new album, which pairs them with frequent collaborator EL CAPITXN and flexes their musical strengths.
Title track Run To You boasts the anthemic rock touches of past songs, reconfiguring them into a brighter, more upbeat summer hit. Its shuffling percussion is interspersed with sharp EDM stabs and touches of synth, quickly developing a propulsive sound that maintains its drive throughout the entire track. As usual, the songwriting forgoes the truncated two-minute trends of the day and offers a more generous runtime. I would have loved to hear more dramatic peaks take full advantage of this sprawling soundscape, but that’s not in the cards this time.
Instead, Run To You anchors itself around a catchy (but repetitive) chorus that opts for brisk energy rather than dynamic drama. This makes it less appealing than previous title tracks, though the song’s breezy arrangement will likely play well in the long run. As far as redemption arcs go, they’ve successful erased the bad taste of Sugar High from my mouth. But at the same time, I get the sense that Run To You could be bolder, more explosive and more melodically memorable.

Unfortunately not a fan of overly bright/youthful boy group songs and this sadly falls in the bunch. The synths really save the song for me. El capitxn is not really missing but this is definitely my least favourite title from them so far. Pinnochio grew on me immensely but I cannot see the same for this.

not as good as Rendezvous and Pinocchio but still a very good comeback! if you remove Sugar High (which is what I did because I refuse to put myself through that again), the entire album is cohesive.

Sugar High is such a crazy out of left field swing that doesn’t fit with the EP at all. The rest of the EP is naturally quite good.
I’m mildly disappointed with the title track this time around because it doesn’t hit the emotional notes of their previous title tracks. I’ll have to listen some more and see if it grows on me with time.

Sugar High almost made me lost hope on the group, but thankfully the boys still got it. While the song progression was not as dramatic as Rendezvous or Pinocchio, the song still delivered enough energy to keep us entertained. The melody is bright and the rap parts really complement the story progression. Yeah, I do hope that the chorus could be more explosive too rather than just brisking through the energy. The other B-sides in the album are good too (I am gonna pretend Sugar High is not there), a solid album indeed.

I just hope they keep their collaboration with whoever is giving them this material. It’s a wonderful sound in Kpop and as far as I know, no one else is doing it, so they might as well adopt different variations of this style and be successful with it. I’d say 8.25 because it is actually a bit repetitive, but I like it a lot.

Analysis: I feel like the production could use a bit more variety to truly stick with the listener. While the chorus isn’t bad, it relies heavily on the word “running” without fully capturing that breathless, exciting sense of urgency. Given that the track is titled “Run to You,” it feels a bit lacking in the pacing and musical resolution needed to make you feel like someone is genuinely rushing toward you. It is definitely a major step up from “Sugar High,” though it doesn’t quite reach the incredible heights of “Rendezvous” or “Pinocchio” for me. It might grow on me over time, and while it’s a perfectly fine title for the season, it doesn’t fully give off those vibrant summer vibes.

Analysis: This track definitely had a lot of potential, but it ultimately feels a little too brief and lacks the distinct flow required to truly stand out. Because of that, it lands at about the same score as “Run to You.”

Analysis: Please don’t misunderstand, as I certainly don’t hate it, but it leans a bit too heavily into standard ballad territory for my personal taste.

Analysis: This track attempts to combine modern trap production tropes with AHOF’s signature style, which unfortunately leaves the final arrangement feeling a little flat. It is by no means a bad song, but it just wasn’t as grand or impactful as I had hoped it would be.

Conclusion: Overall, I walked away from this project feeling a bit underwhelmed. While the title track was easily the best song on the tracklist, the album as a whole still felt like it was lacking quite a bit. I was a bit surprised that they didn’t include elements like a commanding bridge or a more powerful ending to help these songs truly sink in and resonate. While it makes me a little sad to see, I remain incredibly hopeful that AHOF will return to their signature peak form, staying true to what makes them great while continuing to progress their sound in a healthy, natural, and exciting way.

literally just saying the same thing as everyone else, it’s good but not as good as their other title tracks. I think it will grow on me, though. I also liked just say yes a lot. Overall a good ep (except sugar high).
