There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

AALOW AALOW and Journey to Atlantis are 10s for me, love those songs so much

my imperial phase would probably go from what about you to between us.
laboum’s debut is so good in the moment and does feel very debut like if you caught my drift. However, to this day, no matter how many times I listen to it, I can’t sing a single line. Tint’s “love at first sight” feels like what “pitapat” was supposed to be, but I could sing the former all the way through.
The harmonies in “between us” and how the chorus concludes elevates it for me.
I dont really give number ratings anymore, but aalow aalow, journey to atlantis and what about you are 10’s.

I recently did a playthrough of all their singles and came to the conclusion that Journey to Atlantis and Between Us are their best songs by a lot.
Aalow Aalow is fine (Girls Just Want to Have Fun, lol), and I am routinely amused by how the synths in Journey are the same as Chrsi Brown’s Yeah 3x.
Also I can’t find it but I love that clip of the reality show where this little kid meets some idols (idr who) and he’s like “Laboum?” and they’re like “No, we’re [group]” and he’s like “Oh I don’t really care unless you’re Laboum” and everyone is like “Laboum??”
