There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

God I love Dropkick so much and I was so immensely sad that I saw &TEAM twice in Japan and Taiwan and they didn’t perform it at either concert

I didn’t know &Team had such good songs. I’ma have to check them out but aren’t they more J-pop than K-pop even though they did debut in Korea? I guess the line blurs more and more every year.

They’re both, really. They’re an all-Japanese group but they have a lot of material in both Japanese and Korean. Similar to NCT Wish i think

They’re kind of insanely prolific, aren’t they. This is only 3 years’ worth of material… they’ve been working hard.
My favorite song from them might be ‘Run Wild,’ which I guess is not even a title track? That’s crazy…

love them! unfortunately the only song that’s hit for me post 2024 is go in blind but hopefully this september comeback calls back to their more melodic stuff. my favorites are scent of you, road not taken, samidare, dropkick, and koegawari
im curious what you’d rate big suki? i loveeee that one and im bummed they never promoted it, i think it was my most played song of 2024 iirc

Probably a 9.25ish. I love that song and wish they’d promote something like it as a title track for once.

Koegawari is an underappreciated gem and I’m so glad you see its awesome qualities, Nick! Also love Firework and Dropkick

I haven’t listened to this album in awhile but it had/has such deep meaning to me. It was a huge soundtrack during the time I lived in the UK and travelled often to Scandinavia. My highest recommendation!
