There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

Overall Trendline:

Kingdom’s “Promise / Song of Dann” was notable as a hanbok – traditional instruments – kpop style that worked well. The song cleverly incorporates the Korean folksong “Bird bird blue bird” – “Saeya Saeya Parangsaeya” as a break and outro.
I don’t see it linked above, so here it is. For the video, Kingdom once again rented the sageuk sets with the keys to the costume closet.

As a child of the 80’s, may I recommend the British New Wave, especially Depeche Mode and OMD. Also the Pet Shop Boys. Also check out the production oeuvre of Stock-Aiken-Waterman because they did so much so well in the 80’s-90’s.

the way on my own ranking, gaga is just barely at the legends tier with only an 8.99 rating my goodness, i really want her to release another banger so she can get into the legends tier like she deserves
i plan on my ranking to be pretty much a mixture of mainstream artists and any artist i have an interest in meaning i wanna document the good and bad, that means i had to listen to taylor swift, meghan trainor, melanie martinez, and maroon 5’s music and add them as well

This group debuted with such a cool concept, it’s too bad that it kind of ended up handcuffing them soundwise and turning into a situation with diminishing returns. I think their debut Excalibur remains their best title track. I also remember they had some really good b-sides like Blinder, Illusion, and Night Air.

listened the shit out of all their royal title tracks and have grown to love all of them. Long Live the King is also my favorite though my most listened to is actually Dystopia, which is funny because that is probably actually my last favorite of theirs.
But my favorite song from them is We Are which isn’t even a title track but it is such a perfect fit for super hit summer days……the texture on the “yeah yeah yeah” is like a splash of water on the face each time
love these guys and they had a good run personally, hopefully the members feel so too
