Close Your Eyes (Woohyun solo) (from Season 2 / Be Back – 2014)

Woohyun would later release an entire solo album of ballads in 2016, but Close Your Eyes outdoes them all with its sense of good old fashioned drama and chest beating vocal histrionics. I can be unbiased enough to admit that the song really doesn’t offer anything new. It’s as sentimental as sentimental gets, down to the last flourish of strings and swell of theatrical background vocals. But damn if it doesn’t get me every time, especially as that blend of electric guitar and synths punctuates the end of the first chorus. It may not be the trendiest of sounds, but Woohyun’s voice was built for this.
