Contrail (from The Awakening – 2017)
There will be some songs in this feature that have already received short write-ups as part of other reviews, but I don’t plan to reference those old thoughts while writing about them this time. It’ll be fun to see if the rating has changed with time! Contrail is from an album I dearly love and – although it’s not my favorite track – it certainly holds its own. The production is complex and interesting, melding brassy synth with intricate percussion that gives it an off-kilter feel. The melodies follow suit, swerving in different directions than you might expect. These features help the song stand out within their discography. A jazzy breakdown toward the finale is an added bonus.

This is one of probably my top 10 or 15 GFRIEND songs. (This and Crush, too! They have a decent number of good C songs, and really, this album is a masterpiece.)
I loveeeee the echoey piano mixes with the record-scratchy sounds, and the instruments in the chorus are great.
The final chorus is a treat as well, despite being exactly the same, really, as the other two. (Also, another thing I’m noticing– Sowon closes a lot of songs. Eunha tends to start, Sowon tends to close– I think she only opens one song, and it’s this one, in fact.)
I love this song.

Not to burst anyone’s bubble but we MIGHT not get that gfriend 10 years anniversary reunion. The members (particularly yerin) seem clueless with the plan.
This is the 2nd time iirc she has been asked about the reunion and she always answered in a way saying “oh we are having reunion? I don’t know about that”. Whatever it is, F U soumu
