Neverland (from Season of Glass – 2015)
Neverland is the first song a fan would have heard following the group’s debut, coming right after Glass Bead on the track list. As such, it’s a great continuation of their light, poppy sound. Some may call its synth-fueled production dated, but I appreciate its straightforward, upbeat pulse. You could imagine SNSD recording this song in the late 2000’s. The group’s vocals sound incredibly young here, but there’s still power behind the layered chorus. Everything just feels so fresh and uncomplicated, and this energy gives Neverland a strangely timeless appeal.

This one is a lot of fun. Very good for a summer drive with the windows down.
Their early work really is spectacular.
