ATEEZ have had a busy few weeks. Fresh off their latest comeback, the group has embarked on another big world tour and re-signed with their agency for an unprecedented seven (!) more years. Now, they’ve released a special edition of their latest album with new English-language track In Your Fantasy and a solo song from each member. To say fans have been feasting feels like an understatement.
Best of all, this new music is pretty great. Lemon Drop enjoyed a longer stay on my playlist than any ATEEZ single since 2022’s Guerilla and In Your Fantasy builds upon that quality. With this song, the guys get funkier than they’ve been in a long time (maybe ever?). The production has a mid-career Timbaland crunch. Think Sexyback but make it K-pop. Its robotic groove and jagged synths are both nostalgic and trendy and I love how the rhythm maintains its drive all the way through. A few bonus elements would have added greater melodic flourish, but beggars can’t be choosers.
While we’re on the topic of my favorite subject (melody), I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the sky-high choruses of ATEEZ’s best work. In Your Fantasy is an icier beast, thriving on staccato delivery and truncated hooks that play into its rhythm, but a killer bridge or post-chorus could have added the missing element to make this an undeniable triumph. Instead, In Your Fantasy works as a strong — somewhat sonically uncharacteristic — extension of ATEEZ’s very solid 2025.

i vastly prefer the korean version on the album but this is surely a great update to that classic timbaland sound, groovy as hell
rating’s the same for me

Yes!! Korean version hits different fr.
It flows smoother, the rhythm’s tighter & the vibe feels more atmospheric.
The lyrics are also way more poetic & evocative, like:
“충동에 현혹돼 갈증에 중독돼”
(chungdong-e hyeonhok-dwae, galjeung-e jungdok-dwae)
→ “Seduced by impulse, addicted to thirst”
The English one is super catchy & fun, but some lines feel a bit cliché & the flow gets choppy at times.
So yh! Korean vr wins for me, too

Noo I was so sure this will get a 9. All of their singles since I started following them (just before Guerilla came out) have more or less clicked for me, something I can’t say for Seventeen who were THE group for me for the longest time. But I digress.
Lemon Drop is already my most played kpop single among songs released in 2025, this one is bound to end up near the top too.

Ooh, glad I’m not the only one who noticed the Sexyback similarities. It’s incredibly groovy and their best work in a long while. Lemon Drop slowly grew on me, but this is an instant hit.
Rating’s the same.

I’ve been having a hard time clicking with ATEEZ’s recent releases, but this song is really good!

The instrumental is totally SexyBack. Almost copyright infringement SexyBack. The little whoops and wisps at 0:22 0:39 and when they repeat, the sotto voce ad lines at 1:16 and when they repeat, is all SexyBack.
As for the song, yeah, its a bop. Slinky. How much of a bop, I am going to put it at high 8’s for now and see how it sounds in the car.

Crap, this is a wonderful song. It’s just so satisfying and listenable and most importantly, it feels well thought, complete, like real music should feel. I kind of tolerated Ateez’ irreverent and angsty era (Guerilla, Bouncy, Work, Ice on My Teeth, etc), but I’m so glad they are doing this now. 8.75
PS: they reference Lucifer in the lyrics but God help me because they are in my area this Sunday and that “hard No” I gave the rabid Atiny’s in my house to go see them again has become very soft, fragile and weak😅

Out of all the title tracks released today, this is easily the best for me.

I wish this were more memorable melodically but I prefer this new sound of theirs over the one in Lemon Drop. Also, I feel like Enhypen could have done this song if it weren’t for the raps…Ateez has such a distinctive rap line and they definitely provided the best parts of the song. Finally, I guess JT’s hold over Kpop is pretty strong these days.

Very excited to see this kind of sound make a comeback! The English lyrics aren’t too bad either. I was waiting for a strong chorus, but you know what, I’ll take it.

Ahem, it took me several watches before I realized they were singing in English. This is what Bad Desire wants to be when it grows up. Also, Sexy Back is on my (very long, divided into genres and eras) list of favorite songs, so it was foreordained that I would like this. I should have dished out the cash to see them live.

A sing talk done right really make a good song out of it. While it unfortunately has a flat vibe throughout the song, the cool bridge and the airy delivery kinda save it enough to last. Yeah, a peak chorus could make the song better into the 9 points range

the song it actually reminded me of at first was Supa Luv by TEEN TOP, but a much sexier version hahaha
