Song Review: WOOAH – WXW (Wish With W)

Weeks after labelmates DXMON made a surprise return, H Music Entertainment’s “get our artists out of the dungeon” series continues with a new song from girl group WOOAH. The group rebranded in 2024 but haven’t released anything since then. The rock-tinged WXW (Wish With W) tries its best to get things back on track.

I don’t associate this sound with WOOAH, but there’s not a specific sound I associate with them at all. Maybe that’s been one of the challenges keeping the group from flourishing. They’ve released some good songs and some bad songs but there’s nothing that really sets them apart from their competitors. With that in mind, WXW is unlikely to elevate their prospects. The track is nice and melodic and backed by a guitar-and-drums arrangement that feels very classic. It’s also got that generic sheen we often hear in fan songs.

In short, I would never say ‘no’ to WXW coming up on a playlist. It’s well-performed and easy to sing along with. It doesn’t take any regrettable steps and they even throw a sneaky guitar solo in during the climax. However, there’s nothing drawing me to the music either. We’ve heard a thousand songs like this and we’ll hear a thousand more.
