There’s probably an entire generation of Bias List readers unfamiliar with the fantastic teen-pop/rock group The East Light. I’d urge you to check out their discography immediately, as they had a surprising number of hits to their name. Now, two of its former members have rebranded as Peak & Pitch, releasing one digital single (a cover) in 2021, appearing on n.SSign’s Funky Like Me at the start of this year and now finally releasing their own music with Tell Me (말하지).
I didn’t realize how much I had missed these guys’ voices. I always thought their tones had so much character and it’s nice to hear that back in full display on Tell Me. This isn’t some overly complex or bombastic pop song, but casts a pleasant groove that spotlights some very sticky pop melodies. In this way, the song takes a classic approach that’s quite refreshing in today’s TikTok-challenge obsessed K-pop world. I hope this is only the start of a fantastic second wave for their careers.

Idk how to describe it but their vocal sounds nostalgic, and I guess it’s due to the vocal mixing? Hiding their and I would assume this song released on 2008.
I like these feeling, and I would probably giving a 8.5 for this.

unfortunately way more ppl know them for having one of the most horrifying cases of abuse in the kpop industry i have read so im glad they’re still out there releasing music

Finally a song that is Actual song. Actual melody. Actual singing. Memorable too – I have been humming the chorus this hour.
It is always nice to see idols have a second chance, especially ones that came from lousy agencies that had no business being in the kpop business.

The music video reminds me of old Taiwanese vibe where I can imagine Jay Chou starring. Then he would suddenly appear in the old street vibing to the music.
The music itself is not bad, the beat is simple and the production was kept minimal, but it got real groove much better than those chant-talking or meme-focused songs these days. Gonna check the east light discography soon.
Btw I am kinda surprised that ATEEZ Bad is doing so well on korean chart recently. Even thought I still don’t like the actual song, I guess it really got potential for SNS virality.

I was a big fan of The East Light and even ran a fansite back in those days. Then the whole case happened, and after doing my dues as a fansite, I just felt like I wouldn’t really actively listen to them again. So this comes as a surprise, and indeed very nice to hear the boys’ voices again. It’s not too bad as a song, and I’ll watch over them!
