It’s so funny when you watch a music video from an act you know has a shoestring budget and it’s this big, cinematic spectacle (ie: obviously AI). I’m not sure who they think they’re fooling, but I’d much rather see a small budget piece with an engaging and creative concept than pure slop.
Music video aside, ASC2NT’s If I Die Tomorrow might actually be this week’s strongest new song? Of course, this week has been universally mid so that’s not saying much, but a win is still a win. The track takes their sound in a rockier direction, offering an anthemic, driving chorus. I’ve noted the strength of ASC2NT’s vocals in the past, so this is a great direction for them.
Looking under the hood, If I Die Tomorrow is the work of one composer (it’s so rare to see a single name on song credits these days!). Kang Ji Won has been working in the business for decades, responsible for real classics from groups like B.A.P and Beast among many others. You can hear that experience in the songwriting, as If I Die Tomorrow knows just what to do to satisfy its listener.

Hey I quite like the anthemic vibe of the song. The verse and the chorus might not be strong enough, but its a lot better than other releases this week. Agreed that this song is literally one of the giant among dwarfs for this week releases.

The song has some good moments. And then it has other moments. I feel like it sounds like a movie soundtrack song, not the main promoted song but some snippet where the “if I die tomorrow” line gets heard as the hero walks into a deli and its on the radio and buys a pack of cigarettes or soda and on his way out gets ambushed, or such.
