I can hardly keep up with all the twists and turns in the LOONA story, but I know one thing for sure: after nearly six years’ hiatus, Odd Eye Circle are back with new Korean music. Their work represented some of LOONA’s early peaks, offering an edgier take on K-pop’s girl group fare.
After signing with new label MODHAUS, the trio has reunited with creative director Jaden Jeong — a presence well-known in the LOONA universe. Air Force One finds them in familiar territory. It’s equally moody and catchy, alternating between icy verses and explosive choruses. The transition isn’t jarring, though the song rarely settles for easy arrangements. Its chorus may embrace a sing-song “dah dee dah dah” refrain, but this simple melody is couched within a maelstrom of instrumental flourishes that make it feel weirder than it is.
From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I’m not sure Air Force One is always a satisfying listen. But, it’s consistently interesting and off-kilter. I can respect that, even as I long for more melodic highlights and a less-repetitive centerpiece. The vocals and production are the key points here, with dynamic percussion taking center stage. I especially like the switch-up during verse two, which gives the track a brisk sense of momentum right when it needs it most.

LOONA IS BACK!!!
Disappointed though. Good rhythm, others meh. Particularly disliked the refrain, sounds sth from an average boy group title.
Wasn’t interested in the b-sides either having listened to the highlight medley. Mix & Match still remains supreme, in fact one of the best LOONA albums with an extremely coherent sound.
Girl Front>>>>>>>Sweet Crazy Love>Air Force One for me. Just thought Jaden Jeong could give us more. Still happy to see LOONA members returning to the stage though, they deserved it.

(was hoping for another LOONATIC in this album, which seems nowhere to be found..)

Loonatic (and Girl Front and the whole album) are some of my favourite songs ever, so its hard for anything to compare. But, the songs still sound good, I think in full the bsides will really shine

Couldn’t agree with you more. But still, I’m so happy to see some remnant of Loona surviving.

It sounds a bit like a twisted companion version of OhMyGirls’ Dun Dun Dance to me. The secret mirror twin.

honestly though the fact that this song even exists is a minor miracle considering everything loonas been through the past year or so (

My instant thoughts listening to it :
Pretty cool! MV and vibes is more like a slick movie than a kpop song. If song were more dynamic it would have been more awesome – with those visuals could have been an Ive I Am – not enough parts though. They all sound cool! And music is good!

Yeah, it was pretty cool! ‘m not sure how the repetitive chorus part would age, yet the production and music really carry the vibes so well.

I’m a little disappointed because I did want a straight up continuation of what they were doing before. However, this isn’t really that far off and I think it’ll grow with time

At the very least, this is one of the most creative songs that we’ve gotten so far this year. I’m scared that the hook might not age well with me but we’ll see. I love quirky and confusing songs when they are done well, and this feels like a breath of fresh air.

It sounds like if Girl Front and Sweet Crazy Love had a baby and I couldn’t be anymore happy about that, but I will admit that I was slightly disappointed by the repetitive chorus at first. Then, next thing I know, the chorus is stuck in my head and the song ends up on my playlist.
