Two years ago, Victon’s Do Hanse released an underrated highlight with his brash Take Over. I’ve been patiently waiting for him to make a solo return, and was excited to see him paired up with swaggering soloist BIGONE on a rock track.
Be careful what you wish for I guess, because Gummy Bear is more annoying than thrilling. I’m not sure what happened here, except that this song is not the right venue for Do Hanse’s considerable charms. His vocal sounds thin and bratty, slathered in bad effects. The repeated use of “gummy bear” only adds to the saccharine nature of the melodies. The song feels better suited to BIGONE’s gruff voice, but they really should have ditched it altogether.

Is the phrase easy pass or hard pass? Whatever it is, its a pass for me.

Hanse has always been one of (if not one of ) my favorite kpop rappers so seeing him move towards this lane isn’t what I would have prefered from his solo comeback. However, i’ve been following his instagram for a while and saw his style and interest started moving more into this lane/sound especially once he left Plan M/Play A (whatever).
I just want a full Victon comeback but I know i’ll never get it. 🥺

If someone told me I looked like a gummy bear, I don’t think I’d take that as a compliment.

Dear god no. How do you look like a gummy bear? Sticky? Gelatinous? Artificially colored?
