Song Review: LUN8wave – Playground

LUN8wave - PlaygroundIt’s pretty gutsy to debut a sub-unit before your group has even released their first comeback, but LUN8wave have burst on the scene five months after LUN8 made their June debut. Playground sees five of its members returning with a sound that could have been carried just as well with all eight guys.

To be honest, I don’t understand why Playground was created or promoted. It does absolutely nothing we haven’t heard a million times before, from its plonky percussion to the lame nursery rhyme interpolating chorus. It’s the kind of song that vacates memory as soon as it finishes. There’s nothing awful about it, but no moment makes any attempt at originality or flair. It seems that the budget could have been better spent elsewhere.

  1. I genuinely thought this was a different k-pop group but it’s a sub-unit of LUN8? what a weird decision, but then again it’s Fantagio… and why is their name pronounced loo-nave LOL, this company is just doing anything
