Upon hearing Chungha’s new single album, many commented that opener I’m Ready felt more like a title track than the playful sing-talk of Eenie Meanie. I agree, and judging by the virality of I’m Ready‘s newly-released promo video, it may end up having the last laugh after all.
I’m Ready finds Chungha firmly back on the dancefloor, delivering a club banger with unyielding energy and charisma. She excels in this realm and is practically tailor-made for some big DJ collaborations. On its face, I’m Ready is generic club fluff, cycling around a repeated hook so often that it nearly grows stale. Fortunately, its throbbing beat keeps things chugging along at such a pace you’ll hardly notice its lack of structural diversity. Coupled with her ultra-compelling dance performance, the song emerges as a strutting shot of confidence that’ll have plenty of listeners walking the runway in their own home.

Ooh, I love me club bangers, and I’m also glad to see the chorus being used appropriately than leaving it blank with some random one-sentenced lines or ad-libs, just to highlight the instrumental. Anyways, it slaps and I’ll give it a 8.75 (8, 10, 8, 9), because the beat is too good.

from what i can tell from some interviews with Chungha, this was originally going to be a title track song but she changed it to eenie meenie cause she thought that there won’t be a chance in the future for her to have a title track thats different from her usual style and sound
