From Me (from Labyrinth – 2020)
We’ve had a lot of bangers this week, and now it’s time for something more gentle. From Me retains a classic GFriend tone, but tempers the theatrics. If other tracks sounded like a huge, bustling metropolis, this one’s more… rural? There’s a pleasant simplicity to the arrangement, shining focus on the vocal melody. The problem is, the vocal melody isn’t particularly memorable. It’s quite pretty and very emotive. I just wish the chorus hit me in the heart more than it does. As it stands, From Me feels like late-album filler.

Yeah, this feels like driving around the country after the leaves are gone.
