Oh Difficult (with Sonar Pocket) (from Oh Difficult – 2019)
Now this one’s a bit different because it’s a duet and it doesn’t appear on any GFriend album. In 2019, they collaborated with male Japanese vocal/performance unit Sonar Pocket for this special single. There’s actually not a ton of GFriend on the track, but the ornate touches in the production recall their work. I’m not sure what brought these two groups together, but it’s not the most natural match. The song’s okay but it goes on far too long for what it is.

Eh…
It seems to have the worst tendencies of J-Pop– trying to force too many syllables into a small space, bad mixing making it sound like they are singing and also there’s an instrumental, instead of having the vocal and the instrumental be partners. Also very, very repititive.
The bridge is weird, too.
Might be my new least favorite song from them, but I’m going to blame Sonar Pocket, soz.
The stuff at 0:47 is cool, at least
