Show Up (from Time For Us – 2019)
Show Up opens with a burst of tropical synth before segueing into a breezy dance beat. This arrangement remains consistent throughout, blooming into a more robust energy as we hit the chorus. It’s a very easy track to enjoy even if it doesn’t set its sights much higher than “pleasant.” There’s an optimistic mood to the whole thing, especially during the second part of the hook when the melody takes a sudden ascent. With this said, I often forget this song is even part of GFriend’s discography. It’s pretty slight.
