You Are Not Alone (from Time For Us – 2019)
Judging from its title, you might expect You Are Not Alone to be some drippy, lighters-in-the-air ballad. But while the song is sentimental, it’s buoyed by hearty percussion that transforms it into a more galvanizing sound. It doesn’t scale the energetic heights of GFriend’s early material, but it borrows from a similarly effusive style and doesn’t skimp on their musical hallmarks (punchy synth, electric guitar, etc). A more intense instrumental and thrilling climax would have done wonders for the track, but I quite like this one even as it is.

Yeah, this is decent. The prechorus and bridge are killer.
Big complaint is that they’re all a little shrill in the chorus.
But overall, I don’t mind when it comes on.
