There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

Oh Hyolyn, from my favorite summer queen to a summer… sis?
It’s definitely a sad case study of what if you’re following the latest music trend where it just relying on few seconds tiktokable hook to get the attention and streams’ data. I miss the energy of see sea & the melody of bae.

One Way Love is a little too low for me, I love that song very much. such a great debut. that and SEE SEA are her best songs for me.

See Sea is probably her best solo song since it hews closest to Sistar Summer dominance sounds, but I really dig Dally too, and it’s what I think of first when it comes to her solo work.

I just saw the highlight medley of the upcoming “Wind” album. Im so disappointed, they were never meant to fall into those tropes. I hope this comeback will see their lowest sales yet so they can go back to their original production team and finally give us the boy group version of ‘me gustas tu’ WE have all been expecting.

Yeah, I suspected it would be a shift in sound. It seems that the mediocrity of this summer will continue.
On a related note, The Wind’s old production team recently worked on both of DXTEEN’s new b-sides (Idol and Our Sky) and both sound like great Wind tracks:

Have you ever listened to her OST ,,Spell”? I think it’s highly underrated and it should be on this list too. Hardly anyone talks about it.
