There are a number of acts who have debuted in the past few decades and have dozens of song ratings on this blog. I thought it would be fun to lay these ratings out in chronological order, line-graph style, and take a macro view of their careers so far. Then, similar to my “Underrated K-pop” features, I can average their ratings into one mega-score and place them in a pantheon alongside other acts.
As always, this feature has some rules of its own. I’m including any “Song Review” ratings as part of this graph, including Japanese releases and collaborations with one other artist. I’m not including Buried Treasures or solo/sub-unit releases. For the ratings themselves, I’m using the most current number on this blog, so if a song was part of a “Risers and Fallers” or “Legendary Songs Inauguration” post, that’s the rating you’ll see displayed here. That means there will still be a few ratings here and there I find slightly inaccurate, but it’ll mostly reflect my up-to-date feelings.
Finally, these scores are completely subjective. Feel free to agree, disagree and argue (that’s part of the fun!), but know that this chart reflects the opinion of only one person (me).

NCT WISH: A Career In Song Ratings

The Breakdown
Highest Rated Songs
Lowest Rated Songs
Imperial Phases
Wish -> 3 Minutes (2024)
Slump Phases
Steady -> poppop (2024-2025)
Dreamcatcher -> Ode To Love (2025-2026)
Rating Average: 7.72
Overall Trendline:

Oof, out of all NCT units, they got the shortest end of the stick, maybe it has to do with them debuting “late” compared to the others. Kinda sad when one of your two highest rated songs is a cover.
Anyways, Songbird’s a 9.75 for me, Dunk Shot’s an 8.75, poppop a 5.75 (how the hell that song even rose for you is a mystery) and Dreamcatcher is a 5.25, that mixing pisses me off way too much.
So my average should be more or less the same. Also, Dreamcatcher was released in late-2025 so the second slump phase should say 2025-2026.

Surf, Color, and Boy Meets Girl are all 9+ for me! I wish Cheat Code and Melt Inside My Pocket had been promoted as singles, those are two of their best songs

(One of the) resident Wishzens, present!
The very obvious peaks being there…oof. As I said in another post (the AHOF one iirc), they’re (one of?) the only bright group you (at least) liked having a “hip-hop” song. But seeing their updated? score here (my brain did not remember if there was a falling out)…I guess not exactly so rip.
I do have to give it to this blog for covering a breadth of artists; it’s actually your Songbird post that made me listen to them in the first place & now I am deep in the Wishzen rabbit hole! Glorious first song if you ask me!
Scoring-wise all I think is what could’ve been if MIMP and/or Everglow was a pre-release. Might’ve raised the score up.

I didn’t care for them at all until Surf, and it’s been nothing but hits since then. I see poppop rose 0.5 points for you 😜 I dismissed it at first, but it grew on me since I heard the Japanese version so much on the WISHLIST release. I’d give it an 8.
