Pre-releases are like scratch cards — chances to unveil a winner ahead of a new album dropping. Monday’s scratch card was a total loser in the ALLDAY PROJECT lotto with the irritating Talk, but we’re back with a second chance today. As my fingers nervously scratch off the title Do It Like This, I can’t say my expectations are too high.
Those expectations continue to crater as the song reveals itself, opening with a silly “do it like this” intro that sounds more like self-parody than a serious comeback. From here, we move into some of the worst lyrics I’ve heard this year. Lyrics aren’t naturally a part of reviews on this site since they’re usually delivered in Korean, but when presented with a track recorded entirely in English, it’s hard not to notice them. With Do It Like This, you could close your eyes, point to anywhere on the lyrics sheet and come away with a case of major cringe.

We ain’t got no plans”
– Yes, it’s clear you don’t.
“Now you tuned into the anthem (Woo, woo, woo)
The swag anthem”
– Are we seriously still saying “swag”?
“Grippin on wood, my whip so fire
She tryna copy my swag all night”
– Yes, apparently we are. Also… what?!?
“Woah, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, do it like this”
– Rebecca Black did it better, and what are you doing on Wednesdays? Doing it like that?
On the plus side, the gurgling electro beat is kind of fun and the song is somehow less irritating than Talk despite being forged from such inane boasts and brags. It’s almost so stupid that it comes back around to being fun, but they haven’t yet found that magic formula so it’s just bad.

Oh lookie here, Allday Project threatens us with another braggadocious song no one asked for on a random Thursday, how generous of them (๑>◡<๑)♡ They dropped a song so plodding, so boring, I find scratching that itch somewhere deep in my asscrack more entertaining than listening to this (⸝⸝>⩊<⸝⸝) And honestly, I’d rather hear Ronnie Radke bitch about cancel culture or how his life is like a video game, trying hard to beat the stage while he’s still collecting coins than listen to another kpop group talk about how cool they are ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა♡

The first time I appreciate the short song trend so my ear don’t have to suffer with this length of 2:16 (still too long for this).
It’s always fun to see how Nick could be creative in his post, no matter it’s the actual comment of every few lyrics, and the Rebecca’s shade. Always looking forward for your creativeness.

The intro already sound so cringey and the rest of the song was no better. I thought artist choose to pre-release songs in order to build hype leading up to the comeback, but how come my interest just went downhill with each pre-releases. They are a group I check out. I did enjoy Famous (sue me)…but this ain`t it sonically. I like the styling and how they look in the vid, but that`s it.
