File UNIS under: groups who never really got a chance. They debuted in March of 2024 after the group was formed on survival series Universe Ticket. Like most groups of their nature, they had a finite promotional period from the beginning, which would lead you to believe their agency would promote the hell out of them before the inevitable disbandment. Instead, the group released two mini albums and a single. To put this in perspective, their labelmates AHOF (also formed through the Universe franchise) have already released that amount of music in just a year’s time.

I can’t say I was ever too familiar with UNIS, but it’s still sad to see them disband today without leaving much of a mark in the industry. Their final track is the sweet fan song Milky Way, given a bare bones music video that at least lets the girls say goodbye. This isn’t the kind of song that screams “hit title track” and would likely be relegated to a late album b-side for most, but its sound makes sense given the occasion. And as far as these kind of ballady pop tracks go, this is perfectly lovely. In fact, it reminds me of Lovelyz quite a bit. Fans will certainly get the most use out of it, but if it popped up on a random playlist I wouldn’t be upset.
