Song Review: tripleS – Andless

Maybe it’s just me, but tripleS’s 2026 release slate has felt like a series of stealth attacks. They’ve been releasing several songs in the Japanese market recently and I’m always surprised when a new one pops up. Now, we have new Korean track Andless, which also seemed to arrive with very little teasing. Again, maybe it’s just me. There’s so much to keep up with in K-pop, after all.

This group’s fixation with “la la la” hooks has become its own joke, but they’re starting to branch out this year. June’s pop/rock anthem Baby Flower was a refreshing change and the electro pulse of Andless reinvents them yet again. This song is well within current trends, but I’m pleased that it’s at least a little more melodically driven than most of its peers. Andless pairs its distorted synth with a sprightly drum-and-bass influenced beat. In this way, the instrumental reminds me a bit of KickFlip’s recent Kick Off The Wall.

Andless‘s stuttering chorus rides the groove well, even if I long for a secondary post-chorus that could offer needed contrast and variety. A second verse slowdown is a major buzzkill and sticks around way too long for its own good, but when the song kicks forward we’re in pretty satisfying territory. It’s got the high-octane drive of a Hollywood car chase, which will always be an asset in my mind. A more dynamic sense of progression toward a striking climax would have raised Andless‘s grade by a few notches.

  1. Decent song. Probably same rating as you.

Also the A2O Lite song is blowing up in Korea. I may be slightly addicted to that song haha. Been on repeat these past few days.

  2. IIRC, Andless is supossed to be a song to promote their world tour of the same name! The japanese releases are supposed to be a japanese studio album soon called Love n Pop Pt.3.

I liked the song. It feels like a more polished version of what Kep1er might’ve released, it feels a bit new for triples too! Rating’s about the same tho.

    • Yeah the Japanese tracks seem to follow the usual pattern for that market, where singles are gradually released months in advance in the lead-up to the album itself. While OTOH this one is an English-language release (a rarity for tripleS) with their tour in mind. I like it! It’s energetic and pumps me up listening to it, and I’m sure it’ll do the same for the tour audiences too.

BTW Nick, I noticed you included World Wild Women in one of your Japanese roundups (August 23) but that song was actually a Korean release: it was the promotion track for Badge Wars, the variety show now in its fourth year that tripleS themselves are the stars. I know, they’ve had a lot of different overlapping promotions these last few months so it can all be very confusing!

(Oh and for anyone who hasn’t watched Badge Wars I highly recommend it: the games are wacky, the girls are surprisingly competitive, and the overall result is a lot of fun. This year’s instalment was structured as a mafia game, so there was a lot of suspense and deception added to the usual mix.)

  3. A moderately decent EDM synth track. There is not much too criticized from its production or verses. It got enough energy & hook to keep us entertained in the dance floor. Aside from its abrupt outro without definite climax part, I felt that the members vocals were kept too thin so it sounded overwhelmed by the instrumentals in some parts. Still a nice addition to their discography nevertheless.
