Song Review: Lapillus – Who’s Next

Lapillus - Who's NextOne of these days, Lapillus are going to release a great song that’s worthy of them. Today is not that day.

It’s almost as if this group’s music has been engineered in a lab as a Bias List repellant. I haven’t enjoyed anything they’ve put out, and Who’s Next proudly continues that trend. The song is a blend of awkward posturing, cloying production and a veritable buffet of chanted hooks. I could barely make it through one listen, but I gave it another in case I’d missed something great.

It turns out, I did not.

  1. Today is not that day.

You know what day it is? It is the day 1theK youtube channel re-uploaded After School’s classic “Bang!” Let’s go listen to that instead.

  2. Lapillus continuing with the trend of B-side being that much better than the title track that it makes you wonder who the heck is in charge of A&R and why are they so consistently frustrating

  3. but srsly, i cant believe a company that had momoland under its ranks and gave them great (no pun intended) music has devolved into making the most generic music ever written

  4. If there was ever a group that needed to scrap their original concept and pull a Dreamcatcher inspired reboot, it’s Lapillus. This train is going nowhere. Better to rename the group, hire some decent songwriters, and fire whoever the edge lord is behind the scenes.

  5. Nahh the album is great except for the main track. Mld is just stupid enough to pick who’s next as their title track when marionette and paper exist.

  6. They’re better than their title tracks. I don’t understand why they keep choosing the most basic songs as their title tracks. Lapillus is clearly better at dark/brooding themes like Marionette.
