Mr. Blue (from Fever Season – 2019)

We’re firmly in GFriend’s brief tropical phase with Mr. Blue. The group didn’t follow trends often, but the whole Fever Season album felt more like a concession than a breath of fresh air. That said, this is definitely one of the stronger songs on it. It’s probably not title track worthy, but I like its upbeat stomp and dramatic strings. Parts remind me of Hear The Wind Sing, even if the arrangement never scales similar heights. It needs a stronger chorus because the melodies feel like they’re playing second fiddle to the production.

  1. A little bit of “Be Alright” by Ariana Grande.

This is one of the better tracks on the album, although now that I’m actually reviewing the tracklist, it seems that the B-sides are fine; I just hate Fever.

  2. I skipped this is album because I was underwhelmed with “fever”. But this is pretty good, I thought it was going to be generic from the intro but it becomes much more exciting later on. Not bad at all

When I see the title I sing “Mr chu”‘s (apink or dal shabet) chorus replacing chu with blue
