THIS WEEK IN K-POP: Ranking the New Releases from January 12-18

At the end of each month, I compile my top three K-pop title tracks and list a ton of honorable mentions. In 2025, I thought I’d try something new and add a weekly feature to supplement my monthly round-up. Each Sunday, I’ll offer a compendium of the week’s new releases featured on the blog. And even more than that, I’ll attempt to rank them from my least-to-most-liked. I invite you to share your own rankings as well. The comments section of these posts is also a great spot to discuss anything that has happened in K-pop during the week.

Make sure to click on the title of any release to read the full review and see its initial rating. Consider this your one stop Bias List shop each and every Sunday!

  1. I think now I understand a little of the purpose of highlighting songs weekly but let’s see what happens…

    Notable B-sides: none

    10. BabyMonster – Really Like You

    9. OneUs – IKUK

    8. VVUP – 4 Life

Even though it’s not a great song. Just for those who haven’t heard… Link below

    7. Jungseul – Tabom (ft. Shindong Of Super Junior)

    6. WEi – Not Enough

    5. All(H)Ours – Graffiti

After spending the whole day with this song on repeat, it becomes a bit tiring. If Nick posts Riser And Faller I’ll add this song

    4. BBGirls – Love Two

    3. GFriend – Season Of Memories

just warning… this didn’t grow on me

    2. Ive – Rebel Heart

    1. Kim Wansun & Seulgi – Lucky

I’m depositing my hopes in the song Thunder by CIX to save the next and penultimate week of January

Nothing related to this, but while revisiting some old posts on The Bias List, I noticed that there were some profiles/accounts in the comments from people who no longer participate as often, especially in mid-2018. It’s a shame, because it feels like we’re becoming the next generation around here

This happens because, nowadays, we are able to identify some people who comment more frequently, while others do not. Of course, it’s a personal choice whether to just read the comments or actively participate in them. Or, of course, just don’t read them

  2. I only liked:

    IVE – Rebel Heart

    WEi – Not Enough

    Notable Bsides:

    ONEUS – W

    WEi- Without U

I’m also looking forward to CIX…they’ve never failed me.

      • Lol I usually hold a grudge against songs that miss a mark for me, in this case, it was the chorus that was just a repetitive verse but its just way too catchy!!!! I still wish they went for much more of a melodic chorus like I AM.
