THIS WEEK IN K-POP: Ranking the New Releases from January 19-25

At the end of each month, I compile my top three K-pop title tracks and list a ton of honorable mentions. In 2025, I thought I’d try something new and add a weekly feature to supplement my monthly round-up. Each Sunday, I’ll offer a compendium of the week’s new releases featured on the blog. And even more than that, I’ll attempt to rank them from my least-to-most-liked. I invite you to share your own rankings as well. The comments section of these posts is also a great spot to discuss anything that has happened in K-pop during the week.

Make sure to click on the title of any release to read the full review and see its initial rating. Consider this your one stop Bias List shop each and every Sunday!

  1. Well, here are my rankings (I didn’t listen to the ZB1 and GOT7 track yet):

Thunder > Zen > Her > Mama Said

Also, I assume Her rose or Python fell, given Her (7) is above Python (7.25), right?

  2. If I leave Thunder out of this week’s releases, nothing on this list will stand out to me

    Notable B-sides: none

    9. Got7 – Python

    8. Minnie – Her

    7. Jennie – Zen

    6. Vahn (NINE.i) – Goodbye

as I hadn’t yet rated this the week the single was released I’ll add it here

    5. NCT Wish – Miracle

    4. Catch The Young – You, Always

    3. Zerobaseone – Doctor! Doctor!

    2. KickFlip – Mama Said

    1. CIX – Thunder

For me the month could end here, there is still nothing interesting about to be released

  3. I think these last 2 days, I rank Zen over Thunder. That could change though from one day to next. For 3rd, I’ll go with Minnie’s Her, that’s grown on me this last week.

My brother with Doctor Doctor is even worse than IVE (which I’m warming to):

Doctor, doctor, hey, where you at?
Left a message, yeah, call me back
    Doctor, doctor, I’m critical
    L-O-V-Emergency

Doctor, doctor, hey, where you at?
Left a message, yeah, call me back

It’s a little too literal, and unintentionally funny. “Hey yo! doc! Where you at? Hit me up, homey, I been leaving message.” No wonder his doctor isn’t answering his phone!
