The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

A*Teens – You Got The Look
I don’t really need the Roxette interpolation (the original song is too legendary for that), but this is a fun enough follow-up to their killer Melodifestivalen entry.
Adam Lambert – Under The Rhythm
One of the best pop songs of the early summer. The sample works well but the chorus is the true standout.
Ava Max x BIA – Energy
This is the kind of high octane club music she should be making.
Bebe Rexha – Sad Girls (ft. David Guetta)
This gives me such strong We Found Love vibes and that’s pretty much the highest compliment I could give a dance song.
Benjamin – Helahoito
He’s simply one of the most consistent popstars on the planet.
Cherry Bomb – Sorry You’re Not Sorry
Another big pop banger from her. I love the strings in this.
Dagny – C’est La Vie
A solid slice of disco pop from her very good new album.
Dizzy Days – Focus On Me
Takes awhile to get going but the chorus is great.
Florrie – The Times
Stately pop from a veteran of the game.
Goldielocks – Rush
Like the title suggests, this beat is a rush of excitement.
Hogland – Wild Love (ft. Maria Mathea)
A big club banger.
House Of Serpents – Cold Sweat
Another fantastic slice of edgy synthrock from this exciting project.
Janet Jackson x BE:FIRST – Doesn’t Really Matter (Remix)
Please let this be a harbinger for new music! This mix works surprisingly well and highlights the original song’s best parts.
Maja Ivarsson – Världen kommer snurra ändå
I love that she continues to churn out anthemic solo music.
Nicolò Filippucci – Mantra
Such an addictive and uplifting house beat.
Rêve x Ralph – Love Nouveau
Rêve has a new album out soon and I’m so excited! This collaboration will tide me over until then.
Rose Gray – Club To Your Arms
She’s the next dance-pop queen and this rousing single is proof of her continued evolution.
Studio Killers – Let’s Not Talk About Our Feelings
This sounds more like Empire Of The Sun than Studio Killers to me, but it’s good.
Surferosa – Space Age Baby
I still can’t believe this 00s group is back making music. So nostalgic for me!
TIX – Crazy (ft. Hauken)
I’m obsessed with the bounding beat on this.
Ylva – Kyss meg
Frothy disco pop with 2000s influence.
YSEULT – Now Or Never
A big, theatrical 80s synth ballad. This album is shaping up to be something very special.
Zorro x Lupus Nocte – Unchain
The retro synths in this instrumental are so satisfying.
Really like “One Day” off Bebe’s album actually!
I really wanna hear your thoughts on this, its honestly such a strong comeback from Becky G.

I really like that Janet Jackson remix, completely forgot that was one of her songs. Everytime I’m reminded of her works I’m also reminded how influential her work is.
Chrissy Chlapecka’s newest full release is good, even though a third of it are singles we’ve already heard. I especially like Cassiopeia, the dreaminess of the melodies and production is a fun match with her strong vocals.
