The floodgates are about to re-open for K-pop in a week’s time, but before that we have another dry week of mainly pre-releases and unpromoted fare. On the bright side, pre-releases are often stronger than K-pop’s title tracks and follow-ups. Understandably, artists want to lead with their best material. Hopefully that’s not the case with ALLDAY PROJECT because Talk is incredibly disappointing.
Once you’ve released a song as great as One More Time, you’ve set yourself a precedent. Alas, ALLDAY PROJECT’s music continues to be more concerned with posturing and chanting than the big, bold melodies that should be their bread and butter. If ever there was a group primed to revitalize the silly/stupid early-2010s Black Eyed Peas-esque EDM, it’s them. Unfortunately, K-pop listeners aren’t allowed to have fun in 2026. We must be admonished about how great and awesome artists are and how anyone who says otherwise is a hater. It’s tiresome. It’s stale. And quite frankly, it’s astoundingly immature.
My thoughts about Talk might be different if the song itself did anything interesting. After all, great music tends to paint over any lyrical banalities. Sadly, the song’s ideas begin and end with the group shouting “all they do is talk, talk, talk, talk, talk” over a gurgling, muddled beat. It’s an ugly hook, repeated often. And when the melodic pre-chorus appears, it’s throwaway connective tissue rather than a memorable highlight of its own. Talk is thoroughly unenjoyable from start to finish — an absolute chore to get through and one of ALLDAY PROJECT’s worst songs.

Completely justified rating. The only redeeming quality of the song is Bailey’s and Woochan’s rap flows in the second verse. That one part is not enough to salvage this trainwreck production and songwriting though. 4.5 (6, 4, 4, 4)

This group can become so exciting since they have great dynamics of rappers/dancers/vocalist (Youngseo). Famous, One More Time, and (unpopular opinion here) Look at Me just proved that. I wish their title track is a banger just like those three.

All they sang is talk talk talk talk talk and all I hear from them is blah blah blah indeed (full shade intended). IMO this song concept felt empty full of posturing with no substances at all. HYBE girlgroups’ Iconic By Mistake might be a bad song music wise, but I sure can get behind their reasoning for releasing a clap back song. How can a rookie group like All Day Project talk about long-time haters when they were still just a newborn chick yesterday. Its not like their debut was as stormy and controversial like ILLIT either. I will surely skip this song when listening their new album later.

I can imagine its full of nothingburger reasons such as inferiority complex towards the samsung chick or the apeman questionable behaviour. I still think its presumptuous of ADP to release clapback song with such shallow history (almost none) as rookie when they had not achieved anything substanstial yet except a good debut. Like Nick said they had nothing else to say in their music, as such the song unfortunately rang hollow in my ears and my heart.

IDK what Nick and others want the subject to be in Kpop songs…it’s usually stuff like this (Haters and proving people wrong), Love, or Self Empowerment. Youth theme at times.
It’s Kpop…none of these groups write their own music. And Nick has admitted to not even paying attention to lyrics. He doesn’t even have a rating category for lyrics. For example, he gave Enhypen’s ‘Checkmake’ a pretty high score, but the song was essentially about the same thing as ADP’s Talk with some Self Empowerment themes mixed in. No doubt, Enhypen’s song was better written but let’s not act like what ADP is doing is that much different than most groups.

Lyrical composition aside, I think that ADP still lacked the necessary ‘weight’ of experience to carry this kind of clapback concept despite their succesful debut experience. Of course our opinion may differ on this and its okay as everybody had different interpretations. Bad songwriting did not exactly help them either.

Why would you look at any criticism you receive, justified or not, and then decide to release a bad song to counter it. It’s just beyond me.

Because they know the feedback loop is profitable and they have literally nothing else to say in their music so they just go for the low-hanging fruit. It’s insulting to their listeners, though.
(most of this critique is aimed toward the agency decision-makers, not the artists — though these can be one in the same in some cases)

A shame when good songs against “haters” such as Mamamoo’s Hip and Everglow’s La Di Da also exist, both of which were far more popular online than any of these new songs. It really feels like the concept of putting in effort is dead.

Enjoyed it as a hip-hop head. Straightforward lyrics and they definitely could have done more with the hook; it’s good, but mix up the 2nd half of it. And a 3rd rap verse would have been great, even if it was shorter. Maybe even a Bridge with Youngseo. But this is Kpop…they gotta have a dance break outro.
That 2nd verse with Bailey and Wonhee goes hard AF. Their delivery is insane.
6 outta 10. I’ll definitely be bumping this in the car and during workouts.

I will be the nth one to affirm this. For the first minute, it was giving me nothing. Then from about 1:20 to 1:40 I lifted my head and thought, mm, this part has flow.
