Song Review: Kang Daniel – Ready To Ride

Kang Daniel - Ready To RideKang Daniel is Ready to Ride with our old frenemy the Universe app. I’m committed to writing about each and every Universe release, but because of the app’s “download to watch the full mv” schtick I’m also committed to making these reviews as ridiculous and irreverent as possible.

When it comes to Universe, we’ve already done a mad-lib and a poem and an arcade game and a gif-a-thon and a ton of other activities, so the creative well is starting to run a bit dry. But, I love playing with words and compiling a diverse array of reviews, so I invite you to build your own write-up by randomly generating a few key points. Fill in the blanks by clicking the providing links!

Kang Daniel is ready to __________.

He’s come back with a new song that is __________.
(click here to generate a random adjective)

I ___________ it, but I don’t know how many times I’ll ___________ it.

The instrumental is a bit ___________.
(click here to generate a random adjective)

In the end, I think I’d rather listen to a ____________.

Post your results in the comments! And, if you’re curious about mine, here it is:

Kang Daniel is ready to sort.
He’s come back with a new song that is wretched.
I start it, but I don’t know how many times I’ll bounce it.
The instrumental is a bit suspicious.
In the end, I think I’d rather listen to an engine.

Pure poetry! And, here’s my actual rating. For what it’s worth, I think this is one of the strongest Universe releases (though that’s not saying much given its competition!).

Hooks 8
 Production 8
 Longevity 8
 Bias 7
 RATING 7.75

  16. Hey Nick, I wanted to read all of your iconic Universe reviews again, but I realized there wasn’t a tag or anything for it – I was hoping you could create one and tag the relevant ones? You probably don’t want to dedicate any additional effort than you already have on these Universe releases so it’s ok if you don’t 😂
