THIS WEEK IN K-POP: Ranking the New Releases from May 11 – 17

At the end of each month, I compile my top three K-pop title tracks and list a ton of honorable mentions. In 2025, I thought I’d try something new and add a weekly feature to supplement my monthly round-up. Each Sunday, I’ll offer a compendium of the week’s new releases featured on the blog. And even more than that, I’ll attempt to rank them from my least-to-most-liked. I invite you to share your own rankings as well. The comments section of these posts is also a great spot to discuss anything that has happened in K-pop during the week.

Make sure to click on the title of any release to read the full review and see its initial rating. Consider this your one stop Bias List shop each and every Sunday!

  1. nick, you wrote ‘when the day comes’ twice, rightly in the txt section but wrongly for the triples one. i think you wanted to write detective soseol or firework’s diary.

  2. 123-78 and Step by Step are my favorite b-sides off of No Genre too. the members have expressed their love for that type of music since debut and they did it justice. Is That True? and Next Mistake are both great as well.

  3. Boynextdoor’s title track and the “Georgia” song (genuine question: what is the meaning of the numbers?!?!)

    Also, Yuta’s “Twisted Paradise”

    That’s all I got

    • The album didn’t release early. They released a promotional film on Weverse that includes most of the songs as a sort of “visual album” last week. The official audio is out in a few hours.
