Though VIVIZ’s music has never been able to reach the heights of their work with GFriend, my favorite single and album were released during the summer. The trio’s sweet vocal tones fit the season well. Another team who match summer perfectly is the dynamic duo of producers Daniel Caesar and Ludwig Lindell. They’ve given us classics like Red Flavor, All Night, Icy, Pretty Pretty and Oh My Summer — among many more. However, we haven’t heard a song from them in awhile. That changes today with La La Love Me.
I wouldn’t put La La Love Me in the same class as any of those songs I just mentioned, but its bounding dance energy is a refreshing summer balm. It sees VIVIZ attempt a WJSN-esque approach — shimmering and bright but often anchored by a pounding beat. La La Love Me is at its best when this percussion is allowed to go full bore. Too often, the track pussyfoots around. The verses stall energy in a way I wouldn’t expect from this songwriting team, laying low to pass the time rather than bounding forward as highlights of their own. This contrast between verse and chorus is frustrating and is only exacerbated by a subdued bridge. Piecemeal song structures like this have always been a pet peeve of mine — particularly when it comes to dance music.
La La Love Me‘s chorus is by far its standout moment. I love the percolating rhythms and there’s enough melodic variety to keep the hook interesting. It’s a shame we must wade through so much flatlining to get to this point, but ultimately the journey is worth it. If VIVIZ can find a way to maintain this excitement across an entire track, they may just find their musical niche.

I enjoyed this song and am so happy the trio finally have a full-length album.

I’ve been obsessed since I saw the concert performance of the track. it’s basically MANIAC, they even follow the same structure, but for the summer. it’s a 9 for me.
of the major 3rd gen gg releases this week, this is easily my favorite. (though I’ve still yet to determine where TWICE will place in my ranking, for obvious reasons.)

Its fun and poppy, and if it scratches your itch then fine.
But yes, another one where it sounds like the verses don’t match the chorus. Like it could all be swapped like on of those kids books with the flippable pages of hair – eyes – nose – mouth – shirt.

The album is good. I’ve listened to it twice today and enjoyed it both times.
However, this song, melodically, is just Maniac again. Like, it’s clearly working for them, but this is Maniac for the third time in a row.
I want another #Flashback from them

VIVIZ songs rarely hit me as much as GFRIEND past discography and this one is no different.
The song has a fresh summer vibe woven into it, but it lack certain peaks to distinguish it from other similar summer songs. While the beat is good, the song production did little to grab attention in the second part of the song.
The hook do not catch me at first and lose me the second time it came around. Eunha the main vocal did a good job during second chorus though, the high note part is just chef kiss, a nod to GFRIEND nostalgic past.

Another case of, “the song could be better but I really miss this sound, so I’m gonna listen to this over and over” 😭.
I hope wjsn (despite how harsh I was with them on queendom 2) has a comeback for their tenth anniversary
