The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

Annalisa – Esibizionista
Her new album is absolutely fantastic and she decided to release a new video for standout single Esibizionista to celebrate its release. I think album track lo sono is even better, though!
Anyma – Out Of My Body (ft. EJAE)
Okay, I instantly like this more than anything in K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Chrissy Chlapecka – Aria
A brilliant EP of overstuffed, maximalist pop. This song has three key changes back to back!
Grete Paia – Taevas jäi üles
My first big discovery from next year’s Eurovision contenders. This is huge dance music.
Jade – Church / This Is What We Dance For
The deluxe version of her album is very good. I love its single Church, but the propulsive electro dance of This Is What We Dance For is my big standout.
Jannika B – Oh My Goddess
ABBA-esque disco pop from this longtime Finnish star.
Jazzy x Spriitzz – Can’t Deny It
This is such an addictive blend of 90s house and modern dance sounds. Fantastic beat!
Käärijä – Disko Balls
This song is so stupid, but it’s also so addictive. Love the techno beats!
LeBrock – Outrun
My favorite 80s synth-rock warriors are back with a new single!
Magic Dance – Battle Lines
I could’ve featured just about any of the songs from his new album, and if you like this kind of “charging into battle” 80s synthrock, I recommend checking it out. It’s so much fun!
Mika – Immortal Love
I’m really looking forward to his new album next month. To tide us over, he’s pre-released its concluding track.
Portion Boys – Yleismurheilija
They keep releasing variations of the same song, but when the music’s this fun and bombastic I have no complaints.
Robin Packalen – Tuut Tuut Tuut
Disco sheen adds to Robin’s always-engaging synth pop.
Sébastien Tellier – Thrill Of The Night (ft. Slayyyter & Nile Rodgers)
A meeting of dancefloor legends and new, upstart energy.
Tommi Aura – Plastic Wedding
I love Tommi’s new album. It’s very early-Gaga in the best way.
Valencia Grace – Lucky You’re A Star
A quirky blend of operatic vocals and electro pop.
Waymon Hudson – Talk With Your Hands
A big scuzzy dance banger.
Zorro x SIINE – In Pursuit
Upbeat, funky club music that plays so well in the car.
what are your thoughts on abracadabra by lady gaga? if you’d rate it, what would it be?

I also really liked the Tellier song with SLAYYYTER, gives me flashbacks to Kim Petras Halloween album!

Chrissy Chlapecka’s latest EP is terrific, it’s been so much fun seeing her output this year.
I was late to it, but I ended up loving Rosalia’s new album as well. It’s not really pop, but it’s still the first of her works that I was able to connect with – I think it’s the orchestral soundtrack sound of it, as I’ve always been partial to listening to OSTs.

To wit, I can see why Rosalia had Berghain be the lead single – I think it’s the most ‘shock and awe’-type song from the album – but La Perla makes a lot of sense as the follow-up. Still in line with how the rest of the album sounds, but also probably the most accessible (as are the lyrics). It’s one of my favourites too, so I’m glad it’s getting a push.

nick im wondering if u still have mp3s of the following songs u covered on alienhits “pop week” since they’re nowhere to be found (not even on soulseek, im honestly convinced they’re lost media)
and if u know any more songs from these bands do let me know

Let me see what I’ve got. Can’t promise the quality will be great, though.

Nothing from paul st paul & the apostles, it seems, which makes sense because I can’t even remember that one!
