THIS WEEK IN K-POP: Ranking the New Releases from January 25 – 31

At the end of each month, I compile my top three K-pop title tracks and list a ton of honorable mentions. But each Sunday, I’ll offer a compendium of the week’s new releases featured on the blog. And even more than that, I’ll attempt to rank them from my least-to-most-liked. I invite you to share your own rankings as well. The comments section of these posts is also a great spot to discuss anything that has happened in K-pop during the week.

Make sure to click on the title of any release to read the full review and see its initial rating. Consider this your one stop Bias List shop each and every Sunday!

  1. Notable B-sides:

    KiiiKiii – Dizzy // MUNGNYANG // UNDERDOGS

    THIS WEEK: January 25 – 31

    7. Young Posse – VISA

    6. i-dle – Mono (feat. skaiwater)

    5. WHIB – ROCK THE NATION

    4. LNGSHOT – FaceTime – it’s 2026! How does “shawty” still have such a grip on K-pop?! 🙄😑 I don’t know why this stupid word annoys me so much.

    3. POW – Come True (feat. Shin Onyu of Shin In Ryu) – a snooze

    2. 8TURN – BRUISE – hey at least they’re singing 🤷‍♀️

    1. KiiiKiii – 404 (New Era)

  2. ooh boy here we go

    Good BSides – Mungyang, Underdogs

    7. Rock The Nation – WHIB (3,4,4,3 = 3.5) I was genuinely surprised to learn this was an established group in some capacity.

    6. Mono – i-dle (5,7,6,4 = 5.5) I…see what they were trying to do but from my perspective, this specific execution is not what we need right now. Too placating to feel effective. That’s not even talking about the feature.

    5. FaceTime -LNGShot (7,8,7,2 = 6) I cannot give any more for bias when one of them openly respects Tory Lanez (which really feels like it’ll be just the tip of this iceberg), the problem is the group, not the song.

    4. VISA – Young Posse (7,8,8,5 =7) Bias took a hit for the Kanye bar, the 5 points are only because I think it’s a better attempt at a genre I’m cool with. Production also takes a hit cuz the shorter version is fine but the full version is mixed weird.

    3. Come True – POW (7,8,7,8 = 7.5) I was too hard on this. This song is dated as hell and the chorus still sounds a little weak, but unlike some songs above, absolutely harmless. A little fun actually!

    2. Bruise – 8TURN (8,9,7,8 = 8) Those vocals at the end really carried this one up to an 8. I should not like something like this, but the first impression is really good.

#1. 404 New Era – KiiiKiii (8,9,9,9 = 8.75) 404 NOT FOUND IN THE SYSTEM 404 THE NEW ERA ERA

Comebacks I’m Excited For – IVE, ATEEZ, TWS

Comebacks I’m Morbidly Curious For – Asc2nt, because with such an obviously AI generated album cover and font choice like what I am seeing, this can at least be a good disaster.
