Though they’ve delivered a few pre-release songs, we haven’t had a title track from A.C.E since 2021. The group still isn’t quite whole for new single My Girl, but with Kang Yuchan (Chan) recently coming back from military service, the days of five-member promotions seem just around the corner.
As far as long-awaited comebacks go, the breezy My Girl is an understated choice. It’s an easy-listening pop track, thriving on toe-tapping percussion, airy vocals and amiable melodies that play things straight down the middle. It’s a hard song to dislike, but doesn’t offer enough personality or ambition to love. To me, A.C.E’s best music has been all about ambition. From their early hardstyle days to their crazy rock-pop hybrids, the guys have traversed a wide range of genres. It’s disappointing to hear their sound so neutered, even if My Girl is a pleasant listen.
More than anything, this track makes me wonder where A.C.E will go from here. Freed from the constraints of military enlistment hiatuses, they have an opportunity to embark on an exciting series of releases. Hopefully, My Girl is simply the sound of them getting their groove back.

Well, it’s pleasant, but wish there was more to it 😕 Come on, A.C.E, gimme something like Callin’ or Under Cover, not this snoozefest (still a better one than Easy).
I’d give it a 7.5 (8, 7, 7, 8) because I don’t think longevity-wise, it’d age well, I might get bored of it quickly + wouldn’t wanna play it in a loop.

This feels like a placeholder/fan song (though I wish they’d done something more like Take Me Higher). I also wish it was a one-off digital single rather than a comeback since the other songs on the album didn’t appeal to me much either. Maybe Donghun in Build Up has something to do with this lackadaisical approach. I really want to see them come back with something that knocks people’s socks off, which I know they can do.

My Girl is somewhat generic in a pleasant way compared their previous songs I’ve heard. Hoping they get their groove back when reunited as 5!

It’s decent but too generic for A.C.E… as someone whose favourite A.C.E song is Goblin, I was a little underwhelmed, but I’ll still listen to this any day over Lesserafim’s Easy and that entire album.

As someone who really enjoyed take me higher, I thought this song was really nice, looking forward to their future releases!
