At the end of each month, I look back at my three favorite title tracks by K-pop artists. I take my own ratings into account, but there’s a bit of wiggle room as certain songs tend to grow or fade.
December 2019 Overall Thoughts
December always feels like a throwaway month for K-pop, and this was especially true this year. Compared to 2018, the release slate was quite barren, and most of the comebacks that did happen felt quite forgettable.
But to be honest, I hardly noticed. My December was spent cobbling together best-of lists, writing best-of lists and formatting best-of lists. In fact, I’ve still got a couple to go and it’s already 2020! It’s been a busy month on The Bias List, so I’m not too upset about the sparsity of new releases.
December is often the time that I catch up with the J-pop and C-pop that I might have missed throughout the year. When it comes to new music, that’s what I’ve been up to the past couple of weeks. You might even get a post or two about it in the coming weeks!
When it comes to K-pop, I’m not exactly enthused by my top three songs of December. They’re sort of there by default, as there wasn’t much to choose from. I like all three, but I highly doubt that any of them will be cracking my Top 50 countdown this time next year.
As we move into the new year, I’m ready to turn the K-pop page. This is always an exciting time, as anything seems possible. To see what I’m wishing for in 2020, make sure to read my K-pop Resolutions for the new year!
